Georgia Shrimp Company Wine Dinner

Five Course Wine Dinner

 

 

 

 Course 1:

Coconut Shrimp Piña Colada        

Fresh Shrimp tails dusted with coconut flakes, served over a spring-mix salad with a piña colada sauce.

 

Marquis de Perlade Brut

Pale gold in color, this is an extremely fresh delicate and delicious sparkling wine, wrapped in elegant bubbles with a clean dry finish.


Course 2:

Fish Lu’au

Mild flakey white fish poached in coconut milk with taro leaves.

 

 

Pierre Sparr Pinot Blanc

 

This 100% Pinot Blanc is an easy drinking wine with green apple and white flower aromas; concentrated and dry, it has a fresh citric acidity which balances the fruit beautifully.


Course 3:

Jamaican Jerk Chicken

Breast of chicken marinated in a mix of peppers and spice; baked and served with sweet plantains.

 

Beaujolais Nouveau – Georges Debeuf

Beaujolais Nouveau is a purple-pink wine that is particularly lightweight, even by the standards of Beaujolais.  The method of production means that there is very little tannin, and the wine can be dominated by fruity, ester flavors of bananas and pear drops.


Course 4: 

Oxtail

This rich and thoroughly scrumptious slow cooked casserole, a Caribbean favorite, is made carefully over a few hours and dashed with plenty of red wine, fresh herbs and vegetables.  Served with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and green peas.

 

Buena Vista Syrah

Elegance and finesse are balanced exquisitely in this Syrah with aromas of blueberry, and raspberry, nutmeg, dark roasted coffee and white pepper.  Hints of toastiness exhibiting flavors of boysenberry and chocolate and a lingering plumy finish with nice acidity.


Course 5:

Banana Bread Surprise

Down-home and delicious with a twist

 

Ste. Chapelle Ice Wine

Bursting with beautiful aromas of apricots and pineapples with a lush sweet finish.  The wine‘s crisp acidity beautifully balances the high residual sugar.
